Brompton Junction Amsterdam, one of 13 Brompton Bicycle concept stores globally, have launched an exciting new bike hire scheme in the city of Amsterdam. Launched on 20th November, thirty of the iconic folding bikes are available to hire. They are easy to spot on the streets of Amsterdam with all bikes in the famous Dutch Orange.
Customers are able to get the full Brompton experience while exploring the city, with the bike able to fold down to a third of its size and weighing on average just 11kg making it suitable to take on all forms of transport. Not only this, but you are able to store the bike in a small apartment and take it with you everywhere you go, avoiding risk of theft. The Brompton suits varying heights perfectly, with an adjustable seat and variety of handlebar choices.
The scheme offers S, M, H and P type handlebars with a mixture of gearing options. Loans can range from anything as little as 3 hours to 1 week, with preferential rates offered to large groups and anyone looking to use the bike over a longer period.
Alberto Viciana, Store Manager said “I really wanted to start the scheme because we have many visitors who have asked if they could rent a bike for longer than a few minutes. With Brompton bikes being the ideal transport for a city like Amsterdam because of their compact and portable size, the scheme is the perfect opportunity for people to try them out”
Brompton Junction Amsterdam opened in April 2017 and has become a destination for cycling enthusiasts. With Amsterdam having as many bicycles as inhabitants, the Brompton Junction naturally lends itself to this cycling city. Located on Reestraat, in Amsterdam’s creative 9 Straatjes, the shop is open from 10am – 6pm, with a workshop onsite offering repairs and services. The store is split over two levels and includes a full range of Brompton bikes, including special editions.
Brompton will then deduct the price of the hire from the bike, if a customer decides to purchase.
